Yes I realize it's almost 11PM and Gamestop isn't selling it for a little over an hour still.
It's a preemptive topic! So suck on that one! =P

I WAS going to sit out at midnight to get it, but because of working this morning I decided not to.

I lived for FFO (11) for about two years too.
I still haven't beat twelve. i got really far and then had a save failure and after loosing all that data I walked away from it.
I am REALLY tempted to get it and play it... so... Maybe. I guess if they have a copy when I go to work with my coworker.
To summarize: it is a well known fact, that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.
And so this is the situation we find: a succession of Galactic Presidents who so much enjoy the fun and palaver of being in power that they very rarely notice that they're not.
And somewhere in the shadows behind them — who?
Who can possibly rule if no one who wants to do it can be allowed to?

For the Loss??? Is that the new one?
I so don't care about the console wars or your 2048Q resolution. I play my XBox on a 22 Inch TV with old computer speakers to accent the ones built in to the TV.

I wouldn't call it the WORST but I am a few hours in and so far it's just a button masher. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Supposedly in the guide it says after level 03 (I dunno what area that is, the guide is all hardcore no spoilers so it's very vague) it will get better but after the slightly frustrating but interesting battle control system in 12 I expected better than this by far. If we are going back to incident fights at least give me full control over everything again!
UPDATE: I just talked to my friend and he said that once you get several hours in to the game the battle system and controls open WAY UP and it's only button masher while they are trying to fill you with the story.

I'm now 12 hours into the game.
Combat system doesn't necessarily open up, it just gives you a direction in how to run it now. Heavily revolving around the paradigm system...but it just feels so narrow :/ only 6 total classes is extremely annoying, especially when you can't control how you want the AI of your teammates to function. It's just so narrow...and the maps are pathetically linear. Probably the most likeable FF characters in a long time, though. They're all extremely down to earth and just...pleasant. Storyline is rather nice too but it just feels like an interactive movie at this point.

The jury is still WAY out on the paradigm shift bit for me too however at three disks I am hoping this is like seven where it's an 80 hour game at three disks and the first disk is all linear in the main town but then it all goes everywhere after that.
Has anyone noticed this one is laid out a LOT like 7 so far. I was drawing a lot of comparisons myself and I'm not a FF7 junkie, I like the older ones more.

The way they opened up the game I could see it being similiar to 7 (starts up with everyone rushing in, guns blazing) but overall I still continue to compare the game to Xenosaga. Everything is just really similiar.

According to Kotaku and Ars Technica the main story is no less than 50 hours
