As far as the surplus ammo goes, the biggest ingredient in the windex that cleans out the corrosive stuff, is the water. The rest just helps it evaporate quickly, which out here isn't a big issue. Warm water will do the best job removing the corrosive salts. At least that's what I heard. Either way works great really, important thing is clean it out before the day is over and you will be fine regardless of how you clean it.
I suggest trying out the Clark County Shooting Park up north, it's a top notch establishment. I usually go there or American Shooters in Henderson when I wanna take out one or more of the pistols.
Happy shooting dude, and hit me up with a PM if you want more info on the Mosin Nagants, i got a few good resources.
The big deal with CCSP is that they do not have the LONG range section built yet. 100-200 yards is fine some days. Other days, you want to be doing 500-1200+ yards and some of the folks from the local shooters group DO go out that far and farther.
I hit up CCSP on Sunday. It was nice up there @ 0700 right when they opened but got hot fast. -

If you wanna learn to PROPERLY use the boresnake you are welcome to come shoot with me, bring it along, shoot some of my surplus ammo and I will show you proper usage of boresnake. If not, just remember. Pull the bolt, go in from the reciever, NOT from the end of barrel. -

i've done pretty much all the research possible on nuggets before I bought it. Yeah, my rifle is pretty damn counterbored. Ah well. And I don't have a mallet to make the adjustment to my front sight yet, it was the first thing I noticed about the rifle.
so far I only have 20 remington 180gr rounds for it. have yet to fire them of course. my dad gave me a boresnake for cleaning but I'm nervous about using it since I hear it can ruin the rifling.
envyyyy. those rifles are beautiful.
